He has been "dating" the beautiful schlager music superstar, Helene Fischer, for at least 5 years now and no word has been forthcoming as to any possible formalization of the relationship.
It's hard to say if he simply has cold feet, or if this is an orchestrated PR-driven plan to safeguard Fischer's marketability as a sex goddess.
It would hardly be the first time a major music star's personal relationships have been hushed up.
Back when Beatlemania was first sweeping the world, Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, tried to hide the fact that John Lennon, was in fact, married.
He feared that public knowledge of his wife, Cynthia, would detract from John's appeal to thousands of adoring teenage female fans.
Could the same thing be going on here?
Or as CSMR UK correspondent and HeleneFanUK Twitterer, David Hillier suggests, Helene is probably the kind of good hearted girl who, despite her newfound success, always goes home with the boy who brought her to the dance.
The two first met in May of 2005 when the then, 21 year old blonde Rhinelander, sang a duet with him on a schlager TV show, Hochzeitsfest der Volksmusik (The wedding feast of folk music.)

Silbereisen was dating the sister of schlager host, Andy Borg at the time, but he began going steady with Fischer in 2008.
They've been regularly seen in public together since then and Silbereisen reportedly has a picture of her tattooed on his left arm.
But they both refuse to answer media inquiries as to the status of their relationship and the sheepishly compliant German news media doesn't seem to want to pry.
Over the period of their supposed courtship, Helene Fischer has skyrocketed to the top of the schlager world, with millions of record sales under her belt and 2 major German TV networks now in a bidding war to secure her as host of regular TV specials.
Silbereisen hasn't done too badly either.
Beginning as a child of 6 he was an accordion player and singer at carnivals. He later recorded some volksmusik songs and garnered a number of TV appearances. Today he is, by some measures, the #1 schlager music TV emcee in Germany with his very popular Saturday evening MDR network Die Feste der volksmusik shows. (The name of the show changes by season - Das Winterfest, Das Sommerfest etc.)
He's never really had a hit record on his own, but he regularly sings along with the various schlager performers who appear on his shows. And his shows attract virtually all the major luminaries from the world of schlager.
Silbereisen's gawky, somewhat homespun persona has attracted its share of critics. Fellow German TV host Thomas Gottschalk calls him "the biggest mistake in the history of television."
But hey, you can't really argue with success and Silbereisen has a personal relationship with one of the most breathtakingly lovely and talented women on the European continent.
The only question remaining is whether his seemingly endless engagement will result in spinsterhood for the beautiful Helene.
